Rates are set annually by the Government of Alberta, effective January 1 of each year. Rates current to January 1, 2026.
The calculator handles multi-year periods automatically, applying each year's rate to the corresponding portion of the period. For contractual interest, select "Contract Interest" and enter the agreed-upon annual rate. Compound interest is available for contract rates, with monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual compounding.
